two words. Surprise. Wedding.
that’s what happened here!!!!!! everyone walked in with the expectation of a baptism and they got a WHOLE lot more than they bargained for!! (yes, including myself! SURPRISE!!!)
i’ve known this family for years and i’ve done countless photo shoots for them including the births of all three of their children, so we’ve become friends at this point and when i learned that they were tying their official knot, i could only cry…. and then profusely fan my eyeballs because there was work to be done!!! Sarah and J.P. were married in the very same church i believe Sarah’s parents were married in and therefore the church Sarah grew up in. it’s also the same place where all of her children have been baptized, so it’s a very special place for the Blaines and now the Haighs 😀 😀 😀
Sarah and J.P. like to keep things tight-knit and their wedding was no exception – their most important people were there and it was so small and intimate, it was perfect! they also operate on a “no drama” kind of groove, so it may have been my most photojournalistic wedding to date – every photo is so authentic and real. it’s literally a memory of the day, just as it happened.
i do not want to forget about the baptism of their first daughter, ms. Gemma Jane. this sweet nugget didn’t even fuss at any point during her baptism! she was just as sweet as the day she was born. i know this little girl is so loved by her family and her two big brothers – Haigh, Party of Five has such a nice ring to it!!!
congratulations, Sarah and J.P. – we are all so happy for you! i still smile when i think of your wedding day and how special it was!
